How to handle
frequencies
Using the Channel and Frequency fields
Things to know:
·
F3Jscore is internally using the frequency. The
channel is only for easy recognizition.
The frequency is specified as xx.yyy, for example 40.735
·
The channel is specified as XX, for example 56
and can not be entered directly.
·
For each pilot three groups of channel/frequency
fields can be entered. There is no order in which they will be used, because
this is up to the algorithm generating the matrix.
·
The frequency database can be modified from
F3Jsetup->Tools->Modify Frequencies.
Entering the channel/frequency for a Pilot.
There are several ways of entering the channel and
frequency.
·
Type the channel in the frequency field
and press the 'tab' key to move out of the field. F3Jscore will now lookup the
channel in the list with known channel/frequencies. The entered channel will
move to the channel field and the correct frequency will show in the Frequency
field.
·
If the entered channel does not exist, a warning
will be given. Retype the channel (if it was wrong) or try the next method.
·
Type the frequency in the frequency field
and press 'tab' to leave the field. The channel belonging to that frequency will
be read from the database and displayed in the channel field. If a frequency is
entered that does not exist yet
·
Leave the frequency field empty and use the
'select' button. The 'Modify Frequency' window will appear. You can now select
a frequency from the list, or add a new channel/frequency using the 'Add'
button. Then select the correct channel/frequency and press 'OK'. The selected
frequency and channel will be updated for the pilot.
Controlling the known channels/Frequencies list
·
The list with known channels and frequencies can
be controlled from two points:
·
From the main screen of F3Jsetup -> Tools
-> Modify Frequencies
·
From the 'Setup Pilot' screen, select a pilot,
then use the 'select' button next to the frequency.
Add a frequency
·
Open the Modify Frequency form as discussed
above.
·
Press the 'Add Freq' button. The right side of
the form will become active
·
Type the frequency in the frequency field. The
channel and band field will be 'calculated' from the frequency entered.
·
If the frequency entered has got a known channel
number, then change the channel field to this known value, otherwise leave the
channel as it is.
·
When finished press the 'Save Freq' button.
Modifying a frequency
·
Select the frequency to be modified in the list
on the left.
·
Double click that line, or press the 'Edit
Freq.' Button.
·
Make the changes
·
When finished press the 'Save Freq' button.
Deleting a frequency
·
Select the frequency to be deleted in the list
on the left.
·
press the 'Delete Freq.' Button.
·
Anser 'Yes' to the confirmation question.
